 Gerade rechtzeitig zum Release der neuen Compilation und dem neuen Singlerelease haben wir die Chance bekommen mit Adriaan und Peter von den 16 Bit Lolitas zu plaudern. Die Produktionen der Beiden lassen ein jedes Progressive Herz höher schlagen, drum waren wir schon sehr gespannt.Progressive-World.at: Hey Peter and Adrian! We hope you’re fine! Last week the highly anticipated new compilation namend „Warung Brazil 001“ hit the shelves. After months and years your fans now have the chance to get some of your tunes which you were playing in your livesets for ages. Why did you tease us so much? ;) Are there some more Original tracks of yours which will be able to buy in the next few months? 16 Bit Lolitas: Definitely. The first release will be a release on Anjuna featuring some of the tracks of the album including ‘Murder Weapon’ and ‘Nobody seems to care’. We are also going to step up the releases on our own label Bits & Pieces so expect a lot of cool new 16BL tracks to surface there as well. And we are doing many new collaborations which we expect will hit the dancefloors and possibly your record wallet within the next few months. Progressive-World.at: I guess you enjoyed doing this new album for Hope Recordings and the Warung Club. Are you more interested now in doing compilations? A fresh 16 Bit Lolitas breath would be quite good in a compilation market, where only the same people over and over again are releasing 2 or 3 mix CDs a year. 16 Bit Lolitas: We’re not very good at doing what everybody else does, we are only good at doing what we do, and if people enjoy that then all the better! Indeed many compilations and DJ mixes sound a lot the same these days. We just try to do our own thing. And hopefully we will be able to become a more steady voice in the compilation/artist album market. Progressive-World.at: How is it going with your own label „Bits & Pieces“. Can we expect new music on this platform? 16 Bit Lolitas: We didn’t release as much on the label as we would have liked. But we really want to make up for that from now on. So expect a lot of releases on Bits&Pieces in the future! Progressive-World.at: A question which I had for so long, and which is maybe not that important ;): What is the correct spelling of your artist name: Is it 16 Bit Lolitas or 16 Bit Lolita‘s? And is there a story behind that alias? 16 Bit Lolitas: It’s 16 Bit Lolitas. The name is kindof weird. Trying to make sense of it is not something that we recommend. However it is an unusual name that you don’t forget so easily. So because of that we kept the name after it arrived one stormy wintersnight. Progressive-World.at: Sometimes I really think that you 2 are in the studio 24 hours a day! How much do you really work? Maybe you have more free time than all of us as a remix or original production only takes you an hour ;) 16 Bit Lolitas: It took us only 6 and a half minutes to make the entire Warung Album, that is how fast we work! But seriously it’s not really work when you are doing what you love to do. So we ‘work’ almost all of the time. Some tracks only take a few hours, some tracks take a week, some take even more than that. Progressive-World.at: What do you like to do in your free time? Not listening to music all of the time I guess. 16 Bit Lolitas: Whenever we have some free time we retreat to a coffin in the basement and sleep. Progressive-World.at: Could you probably name us a talent, maybe unknown yet, who really cought your attention in 2008? 16 Bit Lolitas: We like Dave Robertson, already an established name but still someone who makes the right kind of grooves! And that is something that we definitely appreciate. Progressive-World.at: Thanks for the interview Adriaan and Peter!
